UGA Takes 1st, 2nd Place at Vanderbilt

1.25.09 UGA put an exclamation point on its invitationals season this weekend with a first and second place finish at Vanderbilt's Commodore Classic in Nashville, TN.
The seven teams UGA sent to invitationals this year had an overall record of 38-14-4, averaged 5.7 wins per 8 ballots, and tallied a combined winning percentage of .714.
UGA's 1st place team at Vanderbilt finished undefeated, with a record of 8-0 and a point differential of +92. The team from UGA that finished second place posted a 7-1 record and a point differential of +70.
UGA team members took three out of six Outstanding Attorney awards at Vanderbilt. Andrei Ionescu won Outstanding Attorney awards on both sides of the case and Brian Mink won an Outstanding Attorney award. Brianna Randall won an Outstanding Witness award.
With this year's invitationals season complete, UGA now will send four teams to Regionals, with two going to a tournament at UNC-Chapel Hill and two heading to Samford University in Birmingham, AL.
