Teams Win 2nd Place, Hon. Mention at Duke

11.14.10 UGA finished its fall invitationals season with 2nd place and an Honorable Mention this weekend at Duke University's Tobacco Road Invitational.

The tournament featured some of the finest competition in the Southeast, as well as teams from Pennsylvania and Washington, DC.

UGA Team 1134 finished in 2nd place at 7-1, defeating Washington & Lee, UNC - Chapel Hill, and the University of South Carolina. The team's only loss came in a 1-1 split with Georgetown, with UGA winning by 6 on one ballot and losing by 5 on the other.

UGA Team 1135 received an Honorable Mention with a record of 5-3, beating Georgia Tech and South Carolina, splitting +10, -3 with Georgetown, and losing to Duke A.

Brian Mink ('11) and Michelle Pope ('11) won Outstanding Attorney awards and Ethan Treacy ('12) won Outstanding Attorney awards on both sides of the case.

Competing on Team 1134, which finished in 2nd place, were: Ethan Treacy (E Board, '12), Lauren Lutton (Captain, '13), Veronica Evans ('13), Heidi Gholamhosseini ('13), Gray Macfie ('13), Serena Premjee ('12), and Claire Whitehead ('13).

Competing on Team 1135, which received an Honorable Mention, were: Brian Mink (President, '11), Michelle Pope (Captain, '11), Corey Anderson ('14), Alana Driscoll ('11), Alli Herzog ('14), Peyton Palmour ('14), Eli Staggers ('14), and Kyle Walker ('13).
