UGA Wraps-Up Best Fall Performance in Program History, Stacks Teams for Spring

12.2.10 UGA completed the most successful fall invitationals season in program history this week, with the school's five "unstacked" teams receiving eight team awards in five tournaments.

The teams tallied a final record of 56-22-2 and a winning percentage of .7125, as the program now stacks its teams in preparation for spring competitions.

UGA's five "unstacked" invitationals teams this fall consisted of 11 members each, with teams balanced to include experienced and inexperienced members at various skill levels.

In the spring, the program sorts into four new teams of 8-10 members each, with the teams consisting of an A Team, a B Team, and two C Teams. The Executive Board "stacks" the newly-formed teams according to performance in the fall and expected performance in the spring, among other factors.

This semester was the most successful fall in UGA Mock Trial's eight-year history. Each of the program's five teams traveled to two invitationals, bringing home a total of eight team awards and 14 individual awards from five tournaments. All five of UGA's teams contributed to this total, with each team receiving team and individual awards this fall.

UGA's team awards included:

  • 1st and 2nd place at UGA's Classic City Invitational
  • 2nd and 3rd place at the University of Florida's Gator Growlin' Invitational
  • 3rd place and an Honorable Mention at Middle Tennessee State University's Mid-South Invitational
  • 2nd place and an Honorable Mention at Duke's Tobacco Road Invitational
