Congratulations to our All-Americans, Etinosa Ogbomo and Ryan Varma, on representing UGA Mock Trial at two of the nation’s most prestigious individual summer tournaments!
Trial By Combat selects 16 of the top attorneys in the country to compete in LA among the best. Unsurprisingly, they picked a dawg. Congratulations to Etinosa Ogbomo on earning an invitation and finishing an incredible 6th place among the nation’s best!
Ryan Varma returned to run the Gauntlet this year, competing among the nation’s best witnesses for a second time. Congratulations to Ryan for his 6th place finish! We could not be more proud, and we are still laughing at the jokes from his direct.
We are so proud of Etinosa and Ryan for their outstanding performance. Special shoutout to alumni Bryan Walker and Jack Goldstein who traveled with our competitors to help them prepare for the tournament. Thank you, Bryan and Jack, for your endless support, you two are the best.
Your 2026 AMTA National Champions!
For the first time the Mock Dawgs competed in the Final Round and were named the 2026 AMTA National Champions. Team Limbo, captained by Danielle and Etinosa, had a a PEREFCT RECORD. This team dropped Zero Ballots against the most talented teams in the nation. Check out the AMTA website to see the full Tab Summary.
Winning the National Championship has been the honor of a lifetime. We hope this accomplishment will show the AMTA community what student-run programs are capable of. It proves that it is not the number of coaches or the size of a budget that defines a national champion, but the strength of tradition. Years of success, heartbreak, late nights in the Journalism Building, long drives to tournaments, and calling the Dawgs after victories have brought us to this moment.
In the spirit of AMTA tradition, the Reynoldson Award is given annually at the start of Nationals to honor coaches whose dedication led their teams to an NCT Finals appearance. As you may know, UGA Mock Trial does not have any. Instead, we have chosen to dedicate our Reynoldson Award to our alumni whose presence continues to shape our program. In April 2027, our Reynoldson award will be dedicated to “The Program of the University of Georgia.” To our Alumni, you are just as much national champions as anyone on that Final Round team. Following our tradition of passing down trophies, we hope to share your legacy with future competitors and present the Reynoldson Award to those who embody what it means to be a student leader.
There is no tradition more worth of envy, no institution worthy of such loyalty, as the University of Georgia. As Always, GO DAWGS SIC EM.
